Redmond, WA August 1, 1996 - Today Interpoint announced the addition of four new models to its MFL Series of DC/DC converters. The new models deliver output voltages of 2, 3.3, 8 and 28 VDC to function in a variety of military, aerospace, industrial and other high reliability applications.
All of the new models feature a wide input range of 16 to 40 VDC, with a nominal input voltage of 28 volts. Converters are fully isolated to at least 100 MW at 500 VDC and incorporate a synchronization feature for added flexibility in system implementation. The conversion frequency for all models is 550 kHz to 650 kHz. Packages for each model save board real estate by measuring a small 3" x 1.5" x 0.4." Current limiting short circuit protection, input line transient protection, and low voltage lockout features on every model prevent damage to the converter and the system from voltage irregularities. Each model incorporates a parallel function, where up to three units may be paralleled for increased output power. All of the new MFL models may be purchased off the shelf from stock or with optional environmental screening. For operation with servo motors and actuation applications, MFL2808S models offer a single output of 8 VDC and up to 55 watts of output power. These models operate over a -55°C to +100°C temperature range with efficiencies up to 84%. Operation to +125°C is available with derated output power. Output ripple is typically as low as 50 mV peak to peak and input ripple is as low as 20 mA peak to peak. The MFL2828S models feature 28 volts in and 28 volts out to provide an isolated tightly regulated power bus to run auxiliary equipment. These models provide up to 65 watts of full output power over the full military temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. The converter typically functions at 86% efficiency. Founded over 25 years ago, Interpoint today is the industry's most experienced supplier of high density, high reliability power conversion products where size, weight and reliability are critical. Interpoint offers more than 500 standard power products, including a complete line of products that are fully compliant to MIL-STD-883 and are available on Standard Microcircuit Drawing (SMD) models. Pricing for units in the MFL Series begins at $840 each in quantities of 1-24, with discounts available for volume purchases.
